Wedding Reception Drink Card - Ohana

Couple friends of mine and the wife's are getting hitched this weekend! Their reception venue lets you have "Signature Cocktails"-- basically you get to rename a drink for the night. And it was up to me to make some fancy cards to identify the happy couple's choice silly juices for the rest of the guests!

The bride's preferred drink took a little longer to figure out. I knew early on that she wanted a Lilo and Stitch theme, and that the drink would be called "Ohana", but I didn't know for a while what the specific drink would be. I was imagining something colorful like sangria or a Mai Tai, perhaps with Stitch swimming in an oversized glass. Counter-intuitively, I was surprised to learn that the bride's beverage was to be a Long Island Iced Tea, and I scrapped my initial composition idea. This idea hit me at the eleventh hour, and I think it made my wife laugh out loud. The characters could stand to be a little more on-model, but time constraints were a significant factor on this project. I'm still happy with it overall, and I like the contrast the colors lend to the darker, redder Stormtrooper piece.
